For rectangular or square slabs, multiply length × width × thickness, then convert to cubic yards.
For circular slabs (like round patios), use the diameter to find the area, then multiply by thickness.
| Application | Thickness |
|---|---|
| Sidewalks | 4 inches |
| Patios | 4 inches |
| Driveways (cars) | 4-5 inches |
| Driveways (trucks) | 5-6 inches |
| Garage floors | 6 inches |
| Workshop floors | 6-8 inches |
4 inches is the minimum for pedestrian traffic. For vehicle traffic, use at least 5-6 inches.
Rebar is recommended for slabs 5 inches or thicker, or for any slab that will support heavy loads or vehicles.
Order 5-10% extra to account for spillage, uneven ground, and waste during pouring.
Wait 24-48 hours for foot traffic and 7 days for vehicles. Full strength is reached at 28 days.
