Yes, the vinyl surface is waterproof. However, water can seep through seams in click-lock products. For wet areas, consider glue-down or sheet vinyl for better moisture protection.
Many LVP products have attached cork or foam padding. If yours doesn't, add 1-2mm underlayment for sound reduction. Never use thick carpet-style padding - it's too soft.
Yes, over many surfaces if flat and stable: existing vinyl, laminate, concrete, plywood. Don't install over carpet or floating floors. Check door clearance - adds about 5-8mm height.
SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) has a rigid stone/plastic core - very durable and dent-resistant. WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) is softer and warmer underfoot but less dent-resistant.
Quality LVP/LVT lasts 15-25 years. Wear layer thickness matters: 6mil residential, 12mil light commercial, 20mil+ heavy commercial. Thicker = longer life.
