Calculate the five number summary (min, Q1, median, Q3, max) and visualize it with an interactive box plot.
| Statistic | Description | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Smallest value | Lower bound of the data |
| Q1 (25th %ile) | First quartile | 25% of data falls below this value |
| Median (Q2) | Middle value | 50% of data falls above and below |
| Q3 (75th %ile) | Third quartile | 75% of data falls below this value |
| Maximum | Largest value | Upper bound of the data |
The five number summary provides a quick overview of your data's distribution, including center (median), spread (IQR), and range. It's resistant to outliers unlike mean and standard deviation.
Box plots show data distribution at a glance: the box shows the middle 50%, the line shows the median, whiskers show the range, and points show outliers. They're especially useful for comparing multiple datasets.
