Frequency (f) counts complete cycles per second. Angular frequency (ω) measures radians per second. Since one cycle = 2π radians, ω = 2πf.

It simplifies equations involving circular motion and oscillation. In y = sin(ωt), ω directly gives the rate of angle change in radians per second.
