Assess cardiac prognosis from exercise stress test results
Total exercise time on Bruce protocol
Maximum horizontal or downsloping ST depression during or after exercise
DTS = Exercise time - (5 × ST depression) - (4 × Angina index)
The Duke Treadmill Score (DTS) is a validated tool for assessing prognosis after exercise treadmill testing. It combines three key measures: exercise duration (reflecting functional capacity), ST-segment depression (ischemia), and exercise-induced angina to stratify patients into risk categories.
Originally developed at Duke University, it helps identify patients who would benefit from coronary angiography and potential revascularization versus those who can be managed medically.
