Trig functions are periodic - they repeat their values. So sin(30°) = sin(150°) = 0.5. The general solution captures all infinitely many solutions.
sin(θ) and cos(θ) only output values between -1 and 1. So sin(θ) = 2 has no solution. Similarly, sec(θ) and csc(θ) can never equal values between -1 and 1.
